This assignment was to create a brand logo for the company 'Big Wall'. I wanted to add some sort of illustration of something so that it's obvious that this is an athletic styled, outdoors brand. I thought the most appropriate illustration to demonstrate that would be a person rock climbing.

After messing with different typefaces, colors, and icons, a black background and white negative space for the type and icon seemed the most visually pleasing. A gritty typeface established that the brand is for outdoorsy people.

Centered, all caps type with an eroded style typeface was the final typeface. The rock climber is defending from the 'A' in BigWall, so that it's centered along with the type and doesn't seem out of place.
