Freshman Year - DF4 - Not Your Mother's Office

In this project, the designers are tasked to design an office based on a provided interview with a client that outlines her needs, wants, and style. On top of that, there is a furniture design element that includes developing a storage piece that meets the requirements and needs of the client as well as maintaining the aesthetic of the office. The custom storage piece went through multiple rounds of sketches and was then rendered in one point perspective with labels that help illustrate the final design. The first step was to review the interview with Teresa and create an outline of how to move forward. After getting an idea of her style, a mood board was created to pave the way for the rest of the design. Each piece of furniture was carefully selected to meet the project and client’s requirements while also retaining the chosen aesthetic. While making these decisions, we had our first hand in specifying. We kept track of the product and relevant information in a table with tags that correlated with the hand drafted furniture plan. This part of the project prepared us for what was to come our way in the next semester.
