At this point in the series, after it had been cut from the newspaper where it had initially appeared, I began working on a larger, more detailed scale. Absent of page and print constraints, I became free to examine the same vein of ideas as before, but with a more painterly approach. It was at this point that I became aware of artists such as Honore Daumier, Windsor McCay and others who seemed to regard little difference between comic-strip material and fine art.
