FLAB
Flab is a seating system designed for Turin's Fablab, focused around three main keywords:
Connective
Why connective?
The Fab Lab is a space with the mission and philosophy of helping makers over the world to share and connect with people and ideas in order to develop collaborative projects and learn.
How connective?
Through its hexagonal shape, Flab allows the user to create different conformations. With a graphic expedient that references the Fablab’ logo, applied on the seat itself the chair suggests sitting closer to other teammates.
ORGANIZABLE
Why organizable?
Analyzing different sources such as Existenzminimum and the context of our project inside the Fablab, we arrived to a good observation point applying the theory to the real context and its necessities, where the space has to adapt to the variable number of people of the different activities it hosts and the number of uses it can have.
How organizable?
Through its foldable design Flab allows the chair to be moved around and hung so it keeps the space tidy and easy to transform.
COMFORTABLE
Why comfortable?
To help the user keep a good posture while working for a prolongated period of time.The users also need to be able to tilt and move around, less constraints such as armrests or backrests are preferable.
How comfortable?
With an ergonomic seat formed by seven plywood layers, Flab helps the user sit in a comfortable position. Moreover, Flab is a stool that allows the user to freely move around and change position.
