After almost a decade working in advertising I enrolled in a 12-week furniture design and construction intensive in Rockport, Maine to gain new perspective and, unwittingly, challenge myself emotionally, spiritually and physically. Below the abridged representation of the culmination of the program which was developing a solid wood case piece with two drawers and door, built to a compact size with at least 5 different styles of hand-cut joinery. It's a mash-up of an apothecary chest of Eastern influence and the campaign furniture of the British Empire but was mostly an exercise to challenge our newly acquired skills with less emphasis placed on the aesthetic.
