Allegory of the dance

Tango for me is not only a dance. It is also a unifying people experience.
When starting to learn Tango in 2008 I began to wonder how to pass on my feelings and impressions using the language of photography as a medium supplement to, and in conjunction with, dance. I know that the conventional image of Tango is couples joined in passionate intimate dance. Tango was once coined: ‘making love standing up’.
Consequently, this compelled me to produce a large amount of photos, depicting close and personal dancing couples, or stylized photos of performing dances. With time, when I was getting more experienced at dancing, it appeared that I can see it in a wider perspective and notice the connection between music and all dancing couples on the vibrant evolving space of the dance floor. This led to the creation of a photo series, where simultaneously you can see music, dance and emotions interact, and that thereby a unique form of complimentary art arises in itself.
