40 days after Christmas, Armenian Apostolic Church and all Armenians celebrate “Tearnyndaraj” (Candlemas Day) or as people like to call it – Trndez. The history of Trndez goes goes back to pagan times. This is a pagan origin holiday. The name “Tearnyndaraj” means “to come to meet the Lord, Christ”. The name “Trndez” is accepted among people. It means “the Lord is with you”.
