In 2018, I did a coloring book for Creative Haven/Dover Publishing called "Western Screen Legends", which featured 31 scratchboard style illustrations of iconic western actors of both movies and television. One of my favorites of the 5 (soon to be 6) coloring books I've done for this publisher. Some readers were enthusiastic about the heavy blacks and challenge of coloring this sort of drawing, while others were less than happy with the large areas of solid black. My next coloring book project hopes to remedy this complaint, and hopefully will not alienate those who have embraced the 'woodcut' look of these previous books.
