Taken by the strength and geomtric qualities of fibre (in plywood and fabric), Lamirack is a flat-packable, slanted bookshelf held under tension (using butterfly joints and raw cord) to mimic origami and folded paper. Designed to store and organize books, wine bottles, magazines, and other knick knacks, this bookshelf can be placed in the center of a room where contents on shelves can act as a privacy screen and for easy access. The project’s aim to increase work-flow, accessibility and serendipity in studio environments share core values of sustainability in its effort to minimize energy costs and waste through smart design and simplified manufacturing processes
