The Interrogation

The Interrogation
This video was made for an editing-focused project, where we were required to create a video with at least 5 different video clips and audio pieces. After being unable to work with others in person for so long due to COVID, I decided to finally reach out and film with a group again.

For this video, I really wanted to experiment and try some new things. I decided to try and use a 2 camera setup filming simultaneously for the first time, having a DSLR mounted and pointing at the person being interrogated while I shot the interrogator with my camcorder free-handed. I also used a Zoom audio recorder and boom mic in order to get clean, higher quality audio for this video as well. This video was also a great learning experience for me too, as this was the first time I had to set up almost everything for a video on my own, some things well in advance, including things such as scheduling, props, location, the script, and all of the equipment. Editing was an interesting experience as well, as thanks to the 2 camera setup, I was able to combine the best parts of each take to create the final edit by cutting to the person being interrogated in order to make it appear seamless.

Overall, this is probably the video I'm most proud of. The editing and camerawork is probably some of my best yet, the acting was really good despite none of us being actors, and the harsh lighting and shadows really helped capture the overall mood I was going for.
