These images were created as a project in the Photoshop class I took in college. We were directed to create Steampunk themed devices by combining elements from multiple images to create anachronistic technology.
I went about the project by finding images in library books of antiques. I specifically wanted a range of types -- an appliance, a weapon, and a toy -- so I sought out raw images in each category, as well as images that contained elements I could transplant, like clock faces or gauges.
Once I had a collection of images, I found ways to overlap them and fit them together to create apparently contiguous constellations of tech from the disparate parts.
