Character Reinterpretation

Materials- I used Procreate to layer images that I found on google. I also used my own photo of myself holding an icicle. I used the eraser a lot to cut around the edges of papers and make them looked ripped. I used clipping masks as well so that I could darken the edges of papers to make them look burned or stained. I also used downloaded brushes for some of the sparkles around but, I also used brushes that came on procreate too.

Processes- First I found a few images of Hogwarts and important pieces from the books like pages and even a real life Hogwarts invitation. Then I added another map as the furthest back image. I got another picture of a paper slip and brightened it to make it be able to blend with the color tones. And I wanted to make it light enough where it would stand out with the word "Dumbledore" on it. I also used a watercolor like brush on all the different layers to make them look old. I made the furthest back map image to appear the darkest because I wanted to show depth. I had to cut myself out of the original image and I put more pieces in front of me so you would not see my feet. I also changed the color tones of the image of myself because it was originally too many cool tones. Lastly, I added sparkles to around myself and made my self somewhat glowing with a luminosity brush.

Ideas- I chose to make my character reinterpretation Dumbledore because I found an old image of myself in the snowstorm last year. I wanted the background to be as old timey and magical as I could. I chose the font for the "Dumbledore" to make it look like a signature and added my own pen splatters for that effect as well. I thought it was a good idea to add the acceptance letters to Ron, Hermione and Harry on the side because Dumbledore is the one who sends those out. I thought the picture of me holding an icicle was perfect for something from the Harry Potter series because the icicle looks like a wand. The camouflage coat I am wearing reminds of the invisibility cloak Harry Potter wears which is why I put the wizard pattern over it. I was thinking that in my recreation of Dumbledore I could make him younger and more happy which is why I do not have a beard and why I am smiling. I also added the shine on the top of the "wand" to mimic the spell which makes a wizards wand light up.
