This project is from the RISD Automotive Design Advanced Studio. The goal of the project was to design a new version of Volkswagen's ultimate hot hatchback, the R32. Released in 2004, and again in 2008 (For US markets) the R32 was the pinnacle of affordable, and practicle performance. The essence of the car has been somewhat lost in the latest GolfR models. This project seeks to revisit those special qualities of the original R32 while udating the design to suit the contemporary VW brand identity.
Clay model is 1/4 scale. The wheels were designed in Solidworks, and 3D printed by Adrian Blandori.
