The New Horizon project is a speculative piece in the form of a short fiction video, where the negative environmental impact of overconsumption forces the Swedish government to collaborate with external stakeholders in order to introduce a pilot project, in which a smart scanning system controls people’s

The aim was to present an everyday supposedly trivial issue, that would be relatively easy to empathize with but lead to and trigger greater questions such as:
Does it have to come to this?
Are we able to prevent this kind of situation from becoming our reality?
Will we have to control and decrease people’s freedom of choice or is it possible to act in favour of the environment without drastic measures?

The story shows how easily people’s lives can be affected if the decision-making process is taken away from them and that each controlling system has its advantages and disadvantages.
