The idea for this was to create a simplistic movie poster. I chose the movie Need For Speed. My thought process to keep things simple was to just use a speedometer and the road. While using these two simple ideas I was still able to add depth and dimension to create a cohesive and simplistic poster.

I created a simple speedometer in Adobe Illustrator. I had the needle at high speeds to strengthen the theme of Need For Speed.

I then created the background. I designed it to look like an asphalt road. I used different texture overlays to give the road dimension. I also put significant numbers that related to the movie as the mileage in the speedometer.

I then added the Movie title, release date, and the main three actors in the movie on tho the poster. I put a drop shadow effect to look as if it is hovering over the road.

This was my final product. I added the drop shadow to the speedometer and created a glare effect over the speedometer as if it was encased in glass.
