1:4 Scale Chair Model
The goal of this assignment was to learn, practice and explore methods of model making and scale. Students had to pick a classic chair, sketch it in different views, estimate the dimensions, and using any appropriate materials, such as paper, wood, foam core, Bristol, and scalemodel metal stock, make a 1:4 scale model of the chair to match the views. The materials had to be finished to appear as the final chair.
Materials:
Frame: 16 gauge aluminum, square aluminum tubing, copper coated welding rod
Upholstery: rubber bands
Cushions: fur fabric
Ottoman: 16 gauge aluminum
