the homepage consists of beautiful panels that both provides the students with the most important notifactions and also allows for big beautiful imagery that illustrates the culture of the course.
The menu system was a unique challenge to find an elegant and beautiful solution the immensely large amount of navigation. I designed a panel system which is bold and inline with the designs for the rest of the courses material that allows for quick and easy navigation. The panels fold out with a 3d animation (see cs50.net) that adds depth to the otherwise flat ui. On smaller screens, the window will auto animate and scroll to the new panels upon opening them. The panels are all also directly linkable with unique urls.
For more text heavy areas of the site such as the FAQs, the panels collapse to allow for largest possible space for the content. They can be expanded by clicking.
