Design IF-Sul 30 Anos

In november of 2021, the Design course from the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul (IF-SUL) completed 30 years of existence. To celebrate, was promoted a series of virtual exhibitions of works designed by students, ex-students, and also professors.
As an ex-student, I decided to contribute to the event by designing a poster for a place  full of creativity, art, and talent.

The poster was inspired by the work of Massimo Vignelli and the modernist movement of the 60’s. Around the canvas are some extinct programs from the institute. Moreover, there are two intersectional graphical elements: the ovals and the organic lines, which express two types of students of the creative area.

The oval represents a conservative student, with a concrete vision, always aware of breaking the rules. The organic lines illustrate a skeptical student, holistic, without a defined path.

The exhibition photography plays with a high contrast with light and shadow, as well as using the “chiaroscuro” technique, created by the renaissance artist, Caravaggio
