The inspiration for the woven pieces comes from a bushy maze garden on a warm sunny day. While walking through a maze, time pauses as one examines its intricacies- the texture of the bushes, the irregular ground in contrast, the mesh like shadows and fleeting pops of color from a fellow passerby. The woven labyrinths delve into these features through juxtaposition of textures and inquisitive choices of weft yarns. Every composition is uniquely asymmetric and is an abstraction of the maze in divergent takes. They are boldly static, yet have a sense of direction.
A combination of linen and polyester challenges the composition of the maze and blurs line, quite literally!
