In addition to the Halloween collaged diorama made, I went to go a more literal approach for the term, “diorama,” and create a real scenery for this two page artist book where a real scene is set up as a scape with characters all in a landscaped background, like a real diorama. I chose the unique and playful subject of displaying smurf village because it’s a childhood classic interest and I thought it was unique choice to display in a diorama scene format as a child antic. This whole diorama was first setup in photoshop to understand the placement composition of characters, color arrangements fro the landscape, and image sizes before they were all printed out and crafted for better organizational method. The cover was set up with only a single smurf so that it gives the viewer a clear sense of what the subject matter is, but also it does not take away the attention from the large amount of details put into the village diorama on the inside.
