Dragons are majestic fantasy mascots. These creatures can either be labeled as the fierce fire-breathers that represent blind rage for humans slay or be labeled as sacred beings that represent ancient wisdom and the power of nature. The real challenge was designing a dragon that breaks free from the typical/classical fire breathing monsters, since there are so many different versions/iterations of dragons in the art world. I chose to use dinosaur elements to create the dragon as a hybrid, since dinosaurs are of my deep interest. It’s amazing how prehistoric creatures have a majestic/monstrous look to their physical features from the scales to their claws and teeth. With some merging of different dinosaur features, I created a hybrid dragon that’s a mash of dinosaurs, but with a physique enough to still deserve the title of a “dragon.”
