ABOUT MARIMEKKO
Marimekko is a Finnish design studio specializing high quality clothing, homewares, and textiles in their signature bold, graphic prints. The company was founded in 1949 by artist Armi Ratia and her husband, Vilijo Ratia who owned a print shop. Together with artists Maija Isola and Vuokko Nurmesniemi they developed eye-catching prints and bold silhouettes that contributed significantly to influential 1960s fashion trends. 70 years later, Marimekko products’ quality and aesthetic are still world-renowned for their style and longevity.
WELCOME HOME
The pandemic has dictated our lives consumed our mental spaces for almost two years now, but now more than ever we are seeing an end in sight. With widespread vaccinations and research-based safe reopening practices, there is hope for a ‘normal’ year ahead. Marimekko’s 2021 annual report will communicate a sense of belonging and welcoming people back into a mindset of comfort, safety and joy.
