Triad
Triad hues are made by using three hues that are exactly 120 degrees apart from each other on the color wheel. 
Analogous 
Analogous hues are hues that are 30 degrees apart on the color wheel.
Tetrad
Tetrad hues are hues that are 60 degrees apart on the color wheel.
Monochromatic
A monochromatic palette has colors that are variations of a single hue. The differences are made by adding white to the hue (tints) or black to the hue (shades).
Complimentary
Complimentary hues are 180 degrees apart on the color wheel. Here, the blue is complemntary to the yellow, and the red is complimentary to the green. 
Split Complimentary
Split complimentary hues are hues that are 30 degrees away from the base hue's complimentary hue. Here, blue is the base hue and the colors on its left and right are its split complimentary hues.
