This was the first Design Project, where we designed for an apparel brand, firstly by doing a thorough reaserch on the brand and then choosing an inspiration. After weeks of surface explorations, finalised a repeat of 16*23 inches.
I chose Zara as my brand for which I developed the print concept.
My inpiration for the project was Oaxacan rugs from Mexico.

Some initial drawings to create the main surface, I believe it is the process which is important, it's even surprising to see how you start from a scratch, learn all the way and create unexpexted.

Coordinates are a very important part of any print design, they in a way complete and compliment the surface. Here are a few examples of Paper Coordinates.
Color as I said plays such an important role, so once the surface was ready, I explored few color options, some getting inspired from the color forecast Pantone View 2013-2014 and Horizon Spring Summer 2014.
