An artwork or a barricade tape?

The flashy red-and-white tape is a sign of elevated hazard, delineation of boundaries not to be trespassed. Guided
exclusively by practical considerations, people who use it also give it completely new shapes, texture, create large bundles or broad linear structures.

During the “self-isolation,” all public spaces in the city were closed off. Streets and courtyards became installations.
The signal tape became an integral part of the cityscape, made us pay attention. Given the situation, the sources
of inspiration were limited to the space around your house.

I explore barricade tape as an object of admiring contemplation, a self-sufficient form free from any negative meanings. Complex knots and lacing create a ready-made restrictive composition but draw attention with their bright color
and form. Aestheticization of an object that denotes restriction leads to discovery of freedom.
