Brand Identity - 2019.

THE PROJECT

Advent branding aims to achieve the recognizability of the destination and subtly present the rich historical heritage that the destination has. 

Design direction

The city's rich history was an inspiration for finding forms that would authentically portray Zadar in the advent time. It is a Christian holiday, which is why we have chosen churches as the primary forms. Thinking about Zadar and advent, the church emerges like the main symbol and compound of these two concepts. Therefore, the starting point of this visual identity proposal is the recognizable church of Stomorica (or its remains, more precisely) and the church of St. Mary.
Logo Concept

The motifs are decomposed into simple geometric elements, forming a shape for further development of Zadar city Advent’s visual identity.

Stomorica motif, from afar resembling a flower, and a combination of snowflakes, round stars, and rosette details (from St. Mary church) which resembles a Christmas ball, together form a blend of shapes that reminds us of the top of a Christmas tree. This gives an impression of a colorful, dynamic variety with a common denominator, which extends through the visual identity of the whole Advent - Christmas decorations.
The complete logo contains the full event name, also indicating its location. This ensures an even clearer and more direct communication. In order to portray the holiday atmosphere, we have chosen Else typography, as it gives an additional “decoration” to the logo with its serifs.
