BLACK AND RED Aspiration to Simplicity

BLACK AND RED
Aspiration to Simplicity

Works from this collection were created during my study of the psychology of visual perception. They are the projection of the aspiration to liberate from everything superfluous, to leave only what is essential for the purpose of the work. These abstractions contain sensual attraction; without it they would imply only factual presentation of data. They carry memories of my childhood, traces of my predecessors and love of my family, inciting me to act, either consciously or unconsciously. The mind is fully liberated from its adherence to natural forms. The forms and phenomena of reality are built from their simplicity and yearning for the simplest possible structure. The colouring is reduced to the two magically opposed colours. Next to black, each colour strikes a more intensive cord, while red stirs up a revolution, a struggle for freedom, disperses in all directions, has its own special power and provokes even stronger excitement when placed next to black which implies “nothing” and calls for sudden and eternal silence.
