This project is about identifying easily available natural materials and exploring the same by soaking them in a fully biodegradable solution which permanently softens these fibers. Offering an alternative material to the synthetics.

Water hyacinth is a free-floating perennial aquatic plant.
Water Hyacinth strips soaked and dried in a biodegradable soultion
Water Hyacinth strips ironed and flattened
Strips placed and stitched together
Hyacinth strips when soaked in the solution and stictched together looks very similar to leather.
This fibre could replace plastic in stationary.
