ILL 201.3 IDEATION: CONCEPTUAL ILLUSTRATION
Summary of the project
The aim of the project is to help you to think through developing and improving your ability to work with ideas. By the end of this project, you will hand-in a digital copy of one A4 conceptual illustration done in pen and ink, or any other suitable black and white media. The conceptual illustration submitted should consist of (a) a written insight and (b) a visual, conceptual representation that plays off the insight to engage the audience. The project itself is split into two parts: (1) development and (2) execution.

Rational

The idiom I chose to interpret - the most beautiful Fig May contain a worm. Is an African proverb that means every positive thing has a negative side to it. This inspired me to look for meaning through literature. I realised that, the knowledge people gain from books, comes at the cost of nature. Therefore in my illustration, I aimed at depicting the cruelty of the price knowledge. That is why my composition depicts an individual reading in a tent, outside a deforested environment.
