Oyster Farm
Material: Acrylic
Colour palette
When I visited the place in the photo, all the trees were white and there were no leaves. Overwhelmed by the view, it was hard to choose a colour for the illustrations at the beginning. When I started to draw, these colours came to my mind. I did not want to draw white trees, so I added warm and cool hued colours to make the illustrations look soft and comfortable.

Skill development
Oyster farm was my first project working with a magazine in 2020. It was also my first visit to an oyster farm in Taiwan. I did a lot of research before I started to paint. I understand that if I want to picture a moving story, the best way to do it is from experience.
I visited the countryside where the farm was and experienced the culture of oyster farming. I wanted to introduce people to the farm through illustration. When I finished painting, I posted it on social media and sent to the magazine editor.
