ILL 101:
1.5 Translating form to colour
H vd Merwe
Through a series of exercises and assignments, I will be required to study, observe and translate colour and light effects into realistic and believe colour pencil rendering. Effects include light and shadow interaction, "colour bounce", highlights, reflection, caustics, form, shadows, transmitting light and surface scattering on objects. Colour can be an exciting and intimidating medium to work in, but this should never become a distraction away form communication, mark-making and meaningful use of lines. The aim of this project is to explore the interaction and play of colour and light between various shapes, forms, textures and surrounding surfaces and to develop keen observational and colour mixing skills to recreate believable "real-world" colours.

DILIVERABLES:
- Exercises
- Thumbnails
- Final (black paper)

I quite enjoyed this project because I got to discover how to combing certain colours together to create darker shadow without using black. I explored so many different setups and how the colours of the fruit and vegetables can bounce back on to the  different objects.
