Imagine the Gumball rally, fast cars, big budgets, beautiful people, exotic cities… now imagine the complete opposite. No car costing more than a few hundred Euro, no budget whatsoever, quite nice looking people and a selection of well chosen city stops on the way, but inject that with a concept revolving around art on wheels, a bunch of fun and a few broken down cars along the way and you have Slowball. A yearly event conjured up by Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk that brings together a bunch of artists to paint a selection of carefully chosen scrap heaps that are then driven across (or as far as they can manage before breaking down) a number of borders by adventurous teams of drivers. We also had a little film made by one of their arty people, nice one.
