The Dragon
Woodworking Relief Sculpture
This project is a relief carving focusing on perception. I created this illustration because I was interested in dragons and asian culture and history. The dragon is left in the foreground with the clouds following in the middle ground. This piece of cherry wood is a square measuring 9 inches by 9 inches with 1 1/2 inches thick. This project focused on learning how to wood carve and issues during carving and adding a polyethylene finish.
