Bicyclist Jersey

I was contacted by George and Dawn Nickerson, from Cambridge,
about designing some custom imagery for a bicyclist’s jersey
for their 25th anniversary bicycling trip in Rimini, Italy.
They were wonderful to work with and knew exactly what they wanted.
They wanted four separate images (and my logo/signature):
1. The Front
The first image I started with was the front.
That way once I had a mock-up, I could carry the colours and fonts throughout the rest of the design for a unified look.

2. The Back
The second major imagery was the image on the back.
It was to encompass imagery associated with where everyone going on the trip was from.
And then at the last minute, a sun-leaf design to denote Canada.

3. The Left Shoulder
A “title” graphic for the shoulder.
It had the name of the trip, with a slogan, bicyclists, and all the years they had done a similar trip.

4. The Right Shoulder
Cancer Ribbons for the cancer survivors making the trip.
Initially just bladder cancer, then also breast cancer. (Which worked out well with the “not alone” vibe of the tagline.)

It All Came Together
The final result was well received,
and the jersey shirt evolved into several bicyclist items
(some of which can be seen above).
