THE DAY THE SAINTS TURNED THEIR BACKS ON ME

There are times in your life when you feel everything is going badly and that what you are trying so hard to achieve, is being destroyed by circumstances you can´t control.
These situations make you wonder if the saints have turned their backs on you, ignoring your prayers and unwilling to help. Then you ask yourself “What do I need to do to receive God’s blessings?” It is usually followed by this explanation: “I have been praying, reading my Bible, going to church, and paying my taxes, and yet my prayers continue unanswered.” In that question and explanation lie the root of the problem: You have fallen into the trap of linking God’s response to your performance. You have not properly understood the balance of grace and faith and their relationship to each other.

By definition, the word grace means unmerited, unearned, undeserved favor. Therefore, the good news is that grace is not about you. Grace existed before you ever came to be. Another way of saying it is that grace is God’s role. Faith is defined as being a positive response to what God has already provided through grace. In other words, faith is your positive response to God’s grace, or faith only appropriates what God has already provided for you.

Therefore, faith is your role in the story. Grace and faith work together, and they must be kept in balance.
After this reflection, you discover an incredible strength inside that you didn´t have before, the power to make the difference and change your life for the better. And, finally, you realize that God’s “grace” only appears when you truly believe in yourself.
