This lamp was my first piece designed in 2014 as part of the foundation of Parallel Design Lab, a venture that sought to generate innovative and competitive design proposals that would allow users to acquire differential products with the possibility of being customized and adapted to their spaces.
Fig is important because in it, I developed several principles that would later be reflected in the general aesthetics of my further design proposals. Moreover, it is the result of a series of personal passions for the forms of nature and the desire to provide functionality and transmit emotions to our customers.
This is a product designed to be assembled by the user. The main reason is to optimize the space in all its manufacturing processes from laser cutting pattern to packaging and shipping. It was first designed taking as a reference a mock-up model in which a series of flat surfaces cut with great precision allow us to obtain a more complex three-dimensional figure through the use of self-supporting joints. A major effort was made to avoid the use of external hardware like screws to simplify the user experience. The less, the better.
