Connecting Narratives. This is the essence of my project, endless connections of endless narratives. I am connected to ancient Egyptian narratives and trying to channel them through wearable art for people with similar narratives to connect with them. I strive to create this loop between the three narratives. What inspired me to start this project from the first place was my constant questioning of “if only we closely looked at our past, will we be where we are now?” My mind would always answer no. Because I, myself, have learned and changed dramatically throughout and because of this project. It changed my perception on the world, and I want other women to do too. Egyptian mythology, those are stories untold, life-changing stories. And since fewer and fewer people are reading its books, I strive that my wearable pieces would be the new story-telling medium to connect people with their past and make a change. Maybe we need something constantly touching our own skin, the most intimate of contexts. Something that would tirelessly nag all the time that we need to look back. And learn.
Here is an individual detailed description of each piece:
The collection was also shot in studio on a model following my art direction.
