THE ANIMALIA FILIPINA COLLECTION
 
Risque Designs takes artisan footwear to another level of intricacy --highlighting traditional Filipino skills such as wood carving and hand-weaving through distinctive designs featuring elegant endemic Philippine animals. The collection endeavors to bring about appreciation of these endemic animals and at the same time create wearable footwear art.
 
All designs are composed of hand-carved heels/wedges, meticulously carved by artisans from Paete, Laguna (a rural town that specialized in wood carving). The upper body of the shoes are made of locally hand-woven fabric combined with leather and suede. 
 
The collection is consisted of the following designs: 
Tamaraw - Mindoro Dwarf Buffalo
Pawikan - Marine Turtle  
Malmag - Philippine Tarsier
Buwaya - Philippine Crocodile
