For my Coldworking final I designed three hanging truncated octahedron lanterns. I made three seperate drafting shapes of the polygon in varying sizes. I then cut, grinded, beveled and polished each glass shape into the designated hexegons and squares before soldering them together. Though the lanterns were designed with the intent that they would illuminate a natural form, I found that the bevels created beautiful projections which ened up being better served in an interior space.
