Some times when I see modern furniture it seems more fun to look at then sit in. Clean lines look really beautiful, but who doesn't love to throw their entire body into a big, puffy couch at the end of a long day. In my mind if someone doesn't feel comfortable in my furniture, I've failed. This chair was my first time working with metal. Metal is a bit less inviting than wood when it comes to things to put in your carpeted living room. After designing the angles of the chair and welding the frame, the biggest priority was making the leather padding comfortable. I initially tried fiber-fill, but ended up stuffing the cushions with a thin layer of dense, closed-cell foam, and a thicker layer of softer, open-cell foam.
