The design of the moth pendant lamp is inspired by the shape of a moth. Warm diffused light will remind you of a cozy evening in a country house. The luminaire is made of a thin sheet of plywood, bent under the press into the desired shape. The coating is made of natural oil using a coloring pigment.

Первой задачей было выбрать материал. В приоритете был шпон из-за своих эстетических качеств.
У меня уже был опыт работы со шпоном и деревом, но основная проблема шпона в его нестабильности после покрытия маслом или лаком, единственное что могло его спасти - это склеивание шпона слоями, но мне не хотелось вступать в этот процесс из-за сложности обработки и увеличения стоимости светильника. В процессе выбора материала я наткнулся на гибкую фанеру тропического дерева Сейба - это очень легкое дерево, гибкое, легко поддается обработке и имеет приятные эстетические и тактильные свойства.

The first recommendation was to choose the material. The priority was veneer due to its aesthetic qualities.
I already had experience with veneer and wood, but the main problem of veneer is its instability after coating with oil or varnish, the only thing that could save it was gluing the veneer in layers, but I did not want to enter this process due to the complexity of processing and increasing the cost of the lamp. In the process of choosing the material, I came across flexible Ceiba tropical wood plywood - it is a very light wood, flexible, lends itself easily and handles pleasing aesthetic and tactile properties.
