Neat & On the Rocks: The Bill of Rights

Neat & On the Rocks Bill of Rights
objective For this project, the objective was to design two contrasting 11”x17” copies of the Bill of Rights. While one of the copies had to emphasize legibility, hierarchy, and function, the other copy needed to push the limit of visual expression. While the first copy will show grace and sophistication while the second will show passion and excitement.

solution For my two designs, I focused on using a somewhat similar feel to each document, connecting the two in a way. Each design used a sans-serif font for the headers of each document while the body was set in a serif font. For the “Neat” copy, two columns to sort out the articles, with the attest following the same format, placed below the articles, while all the text written above the articles span the width of the two columns, with the title using a hierarchical scale, being larger and more visible. As for the “On the Rocks” version, the same width as the first copy was kept but blocked out each section. Much like the first, the title was larger, making it more visible, with the text following wrapping around the bottom part of the title as a “block.” The articles were then placed below in a separate “block”, having the article number being bolded.
