Concept

The ceiling is designed to reflect the lights that are above it to create up lighting throughout the room. The up lighting effect is done by filling in the squares that are near the existing lights with a white material that allows light to go through it and also reflects the light back up to the existing ceiling. The wave pattern in of the grid is to allow for the material to get closer to the lights where it is needed. By breaking up the ceiling into six sections allowed for proper installation and also allowed for the ceiling to be a temporary peace that could be taken down if needed. By recognizing the main uses of the room, the major axis in the pattern was placed along the east west axis in order to give orientation to the users of the room.
