A fresh brand and a rethought product offer a green solution to the mass of PET bottles flooding our everyday lives: the Oonly re-invented a previously widely used and popular solution, the deposit-refund scheme for bottles, which is placed into a 21st century environment to create the Oonly system and service. An Oonly bottle can be reused up to thirty times during its lifecycle, thanks to its main material, the 100% BPA-free Tritan. All bottles and accessories are recycled in their entirety at the end of their lifecycles, so the whole Oonly process is entirely free of plastic waste.

One of the most important stops in Oonly’s special circulation is the docking station. At the docking stations you can both purchase and return bottles. You can refund empty bottles that will be collected and stored by the docking station and returned to Oonly’s unique circulation. The Oonly bottles can be ordered from an online groceries story as well.

Our task in this innovative and gap-filling project was to design the 1.5-liter bottle itself and its carrier. The zero waste approach and the clear and bold message of the brand are also represented by the bottle’s design, its difference compared to traditional PET bottles is immediately apparent. Due to its proportional size, it is good to hold. The flange under the cap and neck design allows the bottle to be easily snapped into the carrier designed for this purpose. The carrier is suitable for the practical transport of 6 bottles, can be reused countless times, and is made of 50% recycled plastic. In the design process of both products, in addition to mass-producibility, we also had to take into account the criteria arising from the operating mechanism of the docking station.
