HISTORIC ADAPTIVE REUSE BUIDLING

ADAPTIVE REUSE BUILDING
Awareness Center
Third Year Student Project
We should design an awareness center that showcases our research, focusing on the proposed solutions to plastic waste in the oceans.

The client wishes to transform and adaptively reuse the old structure, better serving the surrounding community and providing a landmark of how historic buildings do not need to be torn down but preserved, re-purposed, and restored

The historic building must be preserved to an extent but can be converted to show modernity. The building may serve either a non or for-profit purpose.

Not all of the exterior may be destroyed, and consideration for historical relevance and use of the old building needs to be incorporated into the design. Both natural and artificial lighting, modern innovation, and materials are allowed.
