For Old Dave, smoking his pipe was the only time where he felt peaceful. It took him to his special place. Unfortunately, he didn't know going to his special place often would lead him to a better place a tad bit sooner than he hoped for. In the end, everyone hoped he was floating high, puffing out the clouds they saw above them.
