The shape of the letter ‘independence’ has not changed since King Sejong created Hangeul, but its meaning and reason have changed over time.
From 1910, when they cried for national independence, to 1980, when they wanted freedom and overthrow of the dictatorship, to the present, three artists typographically designed the appearance of independence by era.

‘독립’이라는 글자의 형태는 세종대왕님이 한글을 창제하신 이후부터 변하지 않았지만, 그 의미와 이유는 시대별로 달라져왔다.
대한독립 만세를 부르짖던 1910년부터, 독재정권 타도와 자유를 원하던 1980년, 그리고 현대까지, 3명의 작가가 시대별 독립의 모습을 타이포그래피 디자인하였다.
