The deepening of globalization is expanding the regional development and organizational form of the design industry. The global economy breaks down the conventional boundaries of personnel, resources, and markets. On the one hand, the cross-regional design market is bringing new working opportunities for designers. On the other, the advances in transport and information technologies allow designers much flexible working locations and choices of clients. More and more Western design companies and creative professionals are coming to China for a career, while the local East Asian designers are reaching out from their regional and cultural boundaries. They are providing services through the design language, and further the exchange and communication between regions.

世界全球化程度的加深，不斷拓展著設計產業的發展區域和形態，經濟全球化打破了原有人員、資源和市場的邊界:跨區域設計市場為設計師帶來新的工作機會，而交通和信息技術的發展，也讓設計師得以更自由地選擇工作地和服務對象。有更多來自歐美的設計公司和創意人士，來到中國從事設計工作，也有許多東亞本土設計師踏出地域和文化邊界，用設計語言提供服務，並在這個過程中推動不同區域的溝通和交流。跨區域的設計實踐塑造著不同地域的視覺景觀和設計形態，也影響著設計師的設計風格、工作方式和思考維度。在面對多變的社會組織形式、合作方式、市場偏好、人文環境和生活習慣時，有人巧妙地運用著通用的設計原則和資源:靈活、高效，就如形式追隨著功能，設計師也不斷追隨著市場的走向，利用設計去完成市場背後的經營邏輯。而也有人在好奇心的驅動下，通過探索別處的審美、規則和邏輯來不斷認識和完善自己，並利用“外來者”的視角，用獨到的設計手段介入當地社會，帶來依託當地、並融入當地的解決方案。
