The brief was to produce a one colour floral print design for fashion, using only one type of flower.
I chose magnolias, and researching their beginnings in China, I developed a print based around Chinese cultural traditions, including carved windows and the lucky number 8.
The rough, scratchy look echoes Chinese ink paintings and was also more forgiving during the screen printing process.
