Juneau Empire editorials: May to December 2007
The following are editorials I wrote for the Juneau Empire during my first year as a member of its editorial board. I think I grew progressively stronger and more confident during that time.
I'm a bit struck by how things such as the looming recession and Sarah Palin's over-weening ambition make subtle appearances in these editorials despite the lack of a crystal ball. The editorial on avalanche monitoring also seems prescient, since the next year saw a snow slide take out Juneau's supply of cheap hydroelectricity.
You may notice that I didn't write any editorials during the month of November. That's because I got married that month and was unable to write between wedding preparations, the wedding and the honeymoon.
But I picked things back up in December. Check out the end-of-year editorial.
